I was recording screencast videos yesterday and I forgot to shut off my screencast recording software (Screenflow). Totally forgot until just now when I realized the Screenflow recording icon was on and I was like what the hell. Imagine my surprise when I realized I had been recording my computer screen for over 30 hours!
So of course I had to check what I was doing the past 30 hours!
I didn’t sit through all 30 hours but I watched for a few minutes dragging on the timeline bar to scroll forward through time and I’m amazed!
I waste a lot of friggin’ time doing non-work stuff then I wonder how time flew by and my to-do list is not done.
It’s really something to see it in action… I’m working on something then next thing I know I’m checking out the latest on the Minnesota Twins on ESPN.com!
I’ve working from home since 2007 so I know the importance of staying focused so it was a bit eye-openning to see me wander off during my “work block” time!
For that reason I’m installing Rescue Time to help stay on track and focused! I’ve known about Rescue Time for awhile but didn’t like the idea of installing it but now I know I need it! They even have a free plan which is what I’m starting out with.
I’ll keep you all posted on whether or not my productivity increases now that I’ve a 30 hour, 2 minute, and 45 second awakening.

Hi, Alan, too funny. I can’t even imagine what my computer would record for that long! I tried that rescue time for a while over a year ago – waaayyy too much accountability, LOL… Time to check it out again. Thanks for the humorous start to my Saturday online…I’m watching what I’m doing today more carefully now.
Best,
Mary
Hi Mary,
That’s why I had avoided using Rescue Time… I didn’t want to know.
But will try it now to see if my productivity increases. Thanks for stopping by!
