Last week I was reading Lynn Terry’s review of her new wireless Plantronics Headset (Audio 995) and I just got all giddy (yea I’m a geek) because I’m rough on my headsets and usually the first thing to go is the darn wire so I ordered my own wireless headset immediately.
A few days go it arrived in the mail and I was excited to check it out:

So after using for a couple days I have to say that I love my new wireless headset! Not only is the wireless feature awesome but more importantly the audio quality is excellent which isn’t surprising since Plantronics products are usually top notch.
I recorded a video of the headset in action. I started the video when I was in another room about 15 feet from where my laptop was and as you can see and hear in this video the sound quality was awesome even as I was walking while talking into the wireless headset:

Really glad you’re enjoying the Plantronics Headset, Alan – I am LOVING mine!
Really impressive to hear the audio quality in comparison to your first video.
Hey thanks for taking the time for that review. Was it my imagination though, or did the second video have a clicking noise every other second that was nicely missing from the first?
Thanks for the solid review Lynn! Funny you mention the audio quality because the more videos I do, I’m finding myself more and more interested in better audio quality. The first video was shot with my Flip camera and as much as I love the Flip the audio quality is poor. Kodak just came out with a Flip competitor pocket camera that has a mic jack! So I could use my lavalier mic and really improve my audio quality for those Flip style videos as well. I would think Cisco will put out a new Flip video camera with a mic jack to stay on top and compete with Kodak.
I’m already using a Snowflake USB mic so I can have better audio quality on screencast videos where I appear on camera that way I don’t have to wear the headset but the audio quality rocks vs. using the internal computer mic. Here is that review: http://www.imnirvana.com/snowflake-usb-mic-review-demo-video
Maybe Santa will bring me a Kodak Zi8 HD Pocket Video Camera
Hey Gina, I hadn’t noticed so I watched the video again and I do hear that clicking type noise so not sure what that’s about. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for the heads up on that.
The Amazon site now states that: “Item Under Review
While this item is available from other marketplace sellers on this page, it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it’s described here.
