“Get Google Ads Free” – A Poster Child for What’s Wrong with the Internet Marketing Niche
As I’ve mentioned in other posts this blog was created out of my frustrations with the hyped up and shoddy products put out by some members of the Internet Marketing community. Get Google Ads Free is a shiny example of the type of products I detest.
All hype with an extremely misleading (if not flat out lying) sales page promising how you can get Google Ads via AdWords for free. It was via a post over at the Internet marketing forum, Conquer Your Niche, that led me to this post.
One of the CYN forum members was asking for our opinion on the Get Google Ads Fee ebook which sells for $67. The post subject speaks volumes. It read: Been Scammed several times…..Your advice Please.
The poster explains how he has had a few bad experiences buying Internet marketing info products so he wanted to check before buying. The poster should be applauded for researching and asking around before buying.
I replied to his post…
“It might not be a scam in the sense that you pay $67 and you get this ebook but I wouldn’t waste time and money on this it’s very misleading. Use common sense…to quote an old cliche… if it’s too good to be true…You will not get Google Ads for free, period. You will still have to pay. Nothing in life and especially in business is free. Clickbank offers an 8-week refund policy so you can buy it and if you can’t find how to place ads on google for free (you won’t) you can ask clickbank for a refund. Again save your money, as the other poster indicated you still have to pay for the ads on Google then I guess you can recoup the cost by selling ad space on your site but you better have good traffic on your site.”
Another CYN forum member chastised me a little bit for being so blunt. She wrote…
“How do you know it? How do you know what’s in a book without reading it? Or are you a kind of fortuneteller?“
I know buying swamp land in Florida is not a good idea but I’ve never done it but I still don’t think it’s a good idea!
My response…
“Because it’s hype. And I know about Google Adwords. And I’ve researched that ebook. Now the ebook might teach you away to recover your PPC money spent but you still have to pay Google for those ads. So you’re not going to get Google ads for free. You really think Google is going to give away millions of dollars free ads? (There are some credits I’ve seen for $25 online promoted by affiliates). It’s just not possible. It’s common sense a lot of folks ignore when they read these type of sales pages.
No matter what that ebook claims, you still have to reach in your pockets and pay Google for the ads. The ebook then shows you how to place banner-type ads on the landing pages that your AdWords campaigns point to in order to offset the AdWords costs but you still have to pay for those ads. You want to bid $100 on a keyword in the hopes you get all those $100 clicks back with a banner ad? That’s not a good risk to take.”
People especially Internet marketing newbies get suckered in from the sales letter copy that they check out. They let their greed take over. I researched this book and you will find reviews and posts on other forums like the Warrior Forum where expose this ebooks claims as a farce.
Google didn’t get to be one of the major companies in the world with stock price of $200+ because they give away their main source of revenue, the ads you see on your Google searches.
What’s especially disturbing about the sales page is that encourage you to bid high on keywords with the idea that you will recoup your AdWords spend with banners and other ads on your website. At best this trick should only be tried by expert Internet marketers with sites with a lot of traffic not by newbies. You could end up with a huge AdWords bill. Because you don’t get the Google ads free as the ebook claims you still have to cough up the dough before you implement his supposed strategy. It’s gambling on Google Adwords. If you like to gamble and you have the cash I suggest you go to Vegas!
Bottom line this ebook is at best misleading in it’s claims that you can Get Google Ads Free. If you think about it, if I’m promoting a product as an affiliate. I’ve done my keyword research, it’s a good niche, a good product. I put out a PPC campaign on Google. The money I make on commissions from promoting those products should pay for the Google ads and what’s left over is my profit. Thus any successful PPC campaign ad ends up paying for itself, I guess you can call it “free” but you still had to pay for it.
These are the type of hyped up products that is fueling the Internet marketing insanity. And the insanity is alive and well since this products sells a lot and I have people telling me not to judge a book by it’s cover.
In the Internet marketing insanity world you should a judge the Internet marketing ebook by it’s cover!
Needless to say stay away from this crap.
Note that I don’t link to the ebook, that’s because I don’t link to crap. If you really want it you can Google it.
I posted back to the person who responded to my post criticizing my response to the original post that she should buy the ebook and prove me wrong. I told her if she can prove that was able to get Google Ads Free as per the instructions in the ebook, meaning she setup an AdWords PPC campaign for free without her having to first pay that I will pay her $67 via Pay Pal which is the cost of the ebook. I wonder if she’ll take me up on the challenge.
