    Go Daddy Trademark Infringment

    By Alan | August 25, 2007

I was reading Doug Karr’s blog and was amazed on a post he wrote about GoDaddy’s trademark infringement case against someone he talked to named John.

John purchased GO-DADDY-DOMAINS.COM and GO-DADDY-DOMAIN.COM from GoDaddy of course! Now they’ve sent him a letter accusing him of trademark infringement of the GoDaddy name.

It’s odd that a big company wouldn’t have registered those domains but beyond that or whatever you might feel about John’s actions it’s incredible that GoDaddy first leaves those domains open, then they take John’s money for registering those domains, and now they turn around and threaten him with trademark infringement and taking his domains away.

Most of my domains are with GoDaddy and I’ve never had issues with them so I’m on the GoDaddy sucks bandwagon but it’s this type of warped logic that makes me shake my head about the corporate world and the actions of big companies like GoDaddy.

John is looking for legal help so check out Doug’s post and leave a comment if you can help him out.
