    Internet Marketing 2007 Product Review

    By Alan | January 1, 2008

It’s accounting time so as I prepare to close the books on 2007, I’ve been gathering up the receipts
for my business related purchases. I figured this would be a great opportunity to provide a review
of the Internet marketing related products I purchased in 2007.

I don’t buy any of the heavy-hyped products so you might not have heard any of these but hopefully
you will find this review helpful if you’re considering any of these products in 2008.

I bought several e-books, a few software/scripts, and one site membership.

Self Starter Weekly Tips Elite Membership by Lynn Terry

I only belong to one membership site and that’s to Lynn Terry’s SSWT elite membership. This was one
of the best purchases I made in 2007. Not only do members get access to about 10 great e-books, MP3
interviews, weekly webinars, and private forums but Lynn is your defacto Internet marketing coach.
The price compared to other memberships I’ve seen is an incredible value for everything you get
including a great mentor in Lynn.

The 20/20 Challenge by Michael Green

This was the most expensive Internet marketing product that
I’ve ever bought. I loved the concept of this toolkit. Did I make 20K in 20 days? No. Did I
requesting a refund? No. You might be wondering what?? Why not?

First keep in mind that I have also not worked on the plan every day straight for 20 days so that’s
my fault. But after 2 years of affiliate marketing I’ve been wanting to develop my own product and
now the 20/20 challenge has helped me a lot towards this goal. Yes I knew what I should do in
regards to creating my own product but I never did. Follow through and goal setting always did me
in. Here is where Michael Green’s 20/20 Challenge has been very helpful for me, with a daily plan to
follow and the 20 day accountability hanging over me. And even though the 20 days are over, that
accountability is still there! So even though I won’t make 20K in 20 days, I don’t consider this a
failure. For me it’s been a lot of help even though I didn’t make 20K in 20 days. It’s a solid
product. I printed this e-book and put in a binder for easy access.

Confessions of a Lazy Super Affiliate

Chris Remple’s blueprint to affiliate marketing is quiet different and original. He doesn’t spend
his money on PPC he actually says Adwords is for dummies!

He does provide a step-by-step plan and I found this to be a very original way to look at affiliate marketing.
It’s well priced, below most other e-books and worth every penny I paid.

    The Definitive Guide to AdWords

PPC scares me. There I’ve said it. If you don’t what you’re doing it’s like gambling and you can
loose your money very quickly with nothing to show for it. So when I decided to runPPC campaigns on
Google I purchased Perry Marshalls classic e-book about Adwords.

The Definitive Guide to Google AdWords will gently take you by the hand through the entire AdWords
process to ensure you’re not throwing money away when it comes to AdWords and PPC campaigns.

Perry Marshall will show you how to double the customers on your website in 30 minutes or less, with
Google AdWords. You will learn how to beat the learning curve, FAST. I printed this e-book and put
in a binder for easy access.

    Desperate Buyers Only

I bought this highly regarded e-book and I found it excellent. It is bit out dates but it’s still
very relevant. It takes you by the hand on how to create info products targeting desperate buyers
who tend to be highly motivated buyers. One of my goals for 2008 is to create at least one info
product per quarter and I will be using this e-book to help me achieve that goal. It’s been printed
    for easy access.

    ScribeJuice

I was very disappointed by ScribeJuice. It’s supposed to help writing great sales copy and they
compare the HTML editor to DreamWeaver but it’s not even close. I should have refunded but it is
backed by copywriting legend Michel Fortin and John Tanner is receptive and releasing new improved
versions. So hopefully it will end up being a useful software for copywriting but it’s not there yet.

    Mailing Lists Unleashed

This was a great e-book written by Lee McIntyre. At 70+ pages Lee packs in a lot of great
information on how to build and market to your list. From squeeze pages to thank you pages Lee is
very through on explaining how to maximize email marketing campaigns.

    Short Report Profits

This was a great e-book which shows you how to write and market short reports. It is very thorough.
He includes great tips on to write the reports. I’ve read it twice but haven’t referred to it much
since and I did not print it but I still thinks it’s a solid e-book reasonably priced.

    Wizzard Header

The concept of this software was cool. Easily make your own headers. I have a custom header done for
all my niche WordPress powered sites so this seemed like a cool software. It didn’t work. There was
a bug that prevented exporting the header. The private forum admin said David Watson the creator
knew about the bug and was working on it but after almost 8-weeks-I had enough and requested a
    refund.

    CraigsList Traffic

This was a $7 report. It was amusing and he does show you how to try and market on CraigsList but I
view that as black hat list since it’s not allowed and many of those type of ads are deleted by
    CraigsList anyway.

    Keyword Elite

This is a very popular keyword research software from Brad Fallon. Yes, you can do keyword research
for free but I finally broke down and bought Keyword Elite in May. I’m very happy with this very
powerful software. It makes keyword research a snap. In my opinion this is a must have for affiliate
    marketers.

    Tube Traffic

Decent report which shows you how to leverage the power of You Tube for traffic. It comes with
Master Resale rights which is nice. It’s very basic but it does show you how to use You Tube for
    video marketing. Great for newbies.

    Kevin Riley’s Camtasia Recipe

I bought Kevin’s recipe to learn how to use the free Camtasia version 3 software that I picked up.
This is an excellent report and only $9.95!

    Camtasia Course

I picked this up via a WSO offered by Teri Roberts. Excellent video course on how to use Camtasia.
I’m not sure if this has launched or not or what Teri will be charging for this but it was
    excellent.

PayGuardPro – I have tested this and it’s pretty slick download protection script for your digital
products. I picked it up via a steep discount at a WSO (which is no longer available but for under
$50 bucks it can solve your download security issues). Since I haven’t used it, I can’t recommend it
but it does look like a cool script.

    ===============================================

I also bought around 5-10 WSO’s with an averageprice of around $20. Not all were e-books though (design work, PLR articles, etc,).

I know some folks have had issues with unethicalWSO’s but I was happy with my purchases. It’s hard to keep track of these (I need to work on that in 2008) so I won’t go through each one but if you’re not a member of the Warrior Forum you should be. Anyone serious about Internet marketing should be a member and you do get excellent deals via the WSO forum. I have three great mini-sites designed for $37 and $47 via WSO’s so great deals.

I was stiffed once for a $3.95 header so although the guy is a crook I was only out $3.95. I did report him so no one else gets ripped off.

FYI -WSO means Warrior Special Offer. Which is a special deal only available via the Warrior Forum.
Usually at huge discounts. Warriors offering great stuff that I picked up include SteveWagenheim,
Michael Worthington, Teli Adlam, Lynn Terry, The Rhodes Brothers, and BigMike.

Another 2007 purchase not included above is Jeremy Palmer’s High Performance Marketing. I was very
pleased with that purchase and I recommend it. However, Jeremy Palmer is no longer selling his
e-book citing time constrains. Odd but true.

Although I might have missed one or two, the above covers my 2007 Internet marketing purchases.
