Niche Marketing with PLR Products – Case Study

    By Alan | December 7, 2008

I’m in the process of entering a new niche. I’m just on phase two (phase one is finding the niche) which involves getting a site up and running to make money online in that niche. In the spirit of sharing what I know with my readers I will be documenting the process step-by-step.

One of the main components is using PLR products to speed the process of getting the site to market. I’ve read on the forums that a lot folks starting get confused on how to use PLR products. If you need an explanation on what PLR is vs. resale rights check out this blog post by Lynn Terry.

In the coming weeks I’ll be posting videos on my blog as I get this almost live case study up and going. I’ll be sharing the niche, the website URL, my strategies, everything I do to setup shop in a new niche market.

I’ve never seen someone doing something like this on a blog for free so I’m pretty excited. Although I will share the entire process with anyone who reads this blog I will only share my sources with my subscribers. Things like were I go to find PLR products and some of the tools I use. I do need to keep some of my competitive advantage. :-)

When the site is up and running and the case study is over, I will then create a guide recapping the entire process including all the videos in one spot but again that will only be available for free to my subscribers so make sure you sign up:

The first part of this case study will be posted here tomorrow (Monday 8 December).

I will post all entries for this case study in the PLR Video Case Study category so you can easily find them.

PLR is little understood by a lot of people. There are misconceptions about it being simply bad, cheap content and I’ve even heard it called unethical. Nothing could be further from the trust as far as I’m concerned.

I agree with you 100%. I’ve also heard the rumblings about PLR and ethics and I don’t understand. A lot of folks use ghostwriters for example. And we all know the there really is a talking Gecko lizard or cavemen yet those are characters used very effectively to promote products. Good quality PLR is a great way to setup affiliate sites and creating a brand and using a pen name is part of it. Although I would recommend to always make the PLR material your own. Don’t use it “as-is”.

      Hey, Alan!

This comes at a good time for me, as I’m about to embark on a similar venture into a new niche (or two). I’m looking forward to looking over your shoulder at the step-by-step methods you’re using. I’m all eyes and ears! LOL

      Hi Deb!

Welcome aboard for the ride. With your writing skills you should do very well with these type of sites.
