Google introduced their new “Google Wallpaper” feature by forcing it on all of us — whether we wanted to partake or not in having art as our Google background images.
Since there isn’t an easy way to remove the Google background image that search term went crazy in Google trends!

"Remove Google Background" Search term is spicy on Google Trends!
People are bent of not being able to choose if we want these Google background images or not. This is something that Microsoft’s Bing has been using so people are reading a whole bunch into it than probably is merited.
Google blogged that it’s just a 24-hour promotional thing for Google Wallpaper so hopefully soon all will be back to normal.
Hopefully Google who claims to always want to improve their users search experience will learn not to force things on them even if it’s temporary.
Since it’s just a hot search trend right now, I figured I would try to monetize it while it lasts so I created a quick lens on Squidoo for it:
I created 3 short videos showing folks…
How to change Google Background images:
How to create and upload your own custom-made Google Wallpaper – background image:
And then just an intro to the new Google background image – wallpaper feature:
Withing minutes of uploading those videos to YouTube I had a couple comments already (including once feeling “raped” by Google – that’s a flabbergasting comparison – chill out folks).
We’ll see how the Google Background images shakes down but the big question.. “how to remove Google Background” is not easy to do. Google did not offer an opt-out feature.
I cover a few things you can to remove the Google background image on my lens so check it out there. But, if it’s truly a 24-hour promotional things it might all be a moot point.

Hi Alan,
Google just love to impose things on us. Why do they think they can do BS things like this, even if it is promotional.
I wonder if Google get the Google slap.
Pete
Doesn’t look like they know as good as they thought they did to think no one would get upset over this shenanigans. They ended up killing the promotion for google wallpaper background images quicker than anticipated!
